The swimming hats are available in three colours bright green, blue & white all with the logo. They are priced at £7.50

The T-Shirts are white with the logo embroidered on and come in 5 sizes Extra Large, Large, Medium, Small and Extra small. They are priced at £8.90
Jesus Green postcard collection
There are three postcards one with a photo of the pool taken by Helen Dwyer last week, a historical one taken of the long defunct wooden high diving boards in the twenties and one with just the logo on the front. These are priced at 80p each.
In other news, the pool is now at 19 degrees with every likelihood it will be in the twenties over the upcoming bank holiday weekend. Be prepared to queue or arrive early 🙂
Jesus Green Pool is one of the few survivors of the lidos built in the UK during the 1920s. Tynemouth Outdoor Pool – like many others – fell into disuse in the 1990s. Today it’s a sad and crumbling rockpool. Now, a charity is raising funds to see it renovated. They’ve launched a community shares offer and so far attracted pledges of more than £300,000. You can help ensure that Tynemouth gets the kind of pool that makes us all love our summers in Cambridge! You can register your interest, find out more, or just spread the word here:

Many thanks to Francis & Richard for organising this years event.
We now have 4 months and 5 days for the 2017 pool opening 🙂

Probably the best pool in the world
Traditionally the Friends of Jesus Green Pool have made an end of season trip to Dunwich for a sea swim, fish and chips and a beach walk. This is usually on the second Sunday of October – Oct. 11th this year.
Date and details to be confirmed – look out for posters at the pool. An email will be sent for those on the list – you can sign up for the list in the panel to the right of this message.
Better have announced the 2015 opening times:
These seem to be similar to last year with three early days – Monday, Tuesday and Friday. The pool will close on 20th September.
Latest news is that the 2015 season will open for public swimming on Saturday 9th May.
However as last year, GLL (Better) plan to open the pool on the evening of Friday 8th May to host a quick pre-season dip to which Friends of Jesus Green Pool are invited.
More details will be posted and dates and times confirmed as soon as we have them.
Less than 2 months to go!
Our annual ‘bring and share’ winter lunch party will be on Saturday 10th January at 12.15 until 3pm. We have booked the Parish Centre at Little St Mary’s again this year. Details to follow.
